The Organising Committee of Tokyo Olympics 2020-21 appointed Mikako Kotani as new Sports Director.
Kotani is already Executive Board Member of the Japanese Olympic Committee. She won two Bronze Medals in artistic or synchronised swimming during the Seoul Olympics 1988.
The replaced Sports Director Koji Murofush has now become Japan’s Sports Agency commissioner.
Tokyo Olympics was scheduled to start from 23rd July 2020 but was postponed for a year due to the corona pandemic.
