Tour de France ’19: Colombian Egan Bernal Wins
PARIS: Egan Bernal won the Tour de France race and became the first Colombian and the youngest in 110 years to win this major event.
The 22 year old rider completed the 3,409 km (2,118 miles) cycling race about 1 minute and 10 seconds before Geraint Thomas the 2018 champion.
Bernals full name is Egan Arley Bernal Gómez. Born in 1977 in the city of Bogota, Colombia, Bernals presently rides for UCI World Team. He made his debut as team leader for Team Sky and won the classification of the youngest rider and in the overall standing finished in 6th place.
