LPC – LAHORE: Remington Polo and Guard Group carved out impressive victories in the Treet Polo Cup 2017 matches played here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Remington Polo overwhelmed Dawood Group by a big margin of 10-3½. Bilal Noon was the top scorer from winning side with four goals while Bilal Haye hammered a hat-trick, Dr Faisal Khokhar scored a brace and Agha Musa contributed one goal in their team’s tremendous triumph. From Dawood Group, Azam Noon struck two goals and Abdullah Dawood one.
Remington Polo dominated the match right from the start as they thwarted two outstanding goals in the first chukker, and added three more in the second to make it 5-0 but one goal from Dawood Group reduced the gap to 5-1 before the end of the chukker. The third once again was fully dominated by Remington Polo as they fired fabulous three goals to further enhance their lead to 8-1.
Dawood Group though fought back well in the fourth and last chukker by scoring a brace but after that they couldn’t add even a single goal. On the other hand, Remington Polo players once again changed their strategy from defensive to attacking mood, which paid dividend and they succeeded in converting two more goals to finish the match at 10-3. With half goal handicap advantage for Dawood Group, the final score was 10-3½.
The second encounter of the day also turned out to be one-sided affair where Guard Group thrashed Black Horse Paints by 10-2½. Taimur Mawaz Khan emerged as hero of the day as he fired fantastic five goals for Guard Group while Taimur Ali Malik converted three and Samir Malik two goals. No goal was scored by Black Horse Paints, who had just two and half goal handicap advantage.
