Two female table tennis players hit an astonishing 766-shot rally that has been called the longest rally in modern table tennis by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
The rally happened in the first round of the Qatar open on Thursday (23 February) between the Netherlands’ Li Jie and Japan’s Hitomi Sato.
Interestingly, both women elected not to go on the offensive with the score tied as they entered their third game. The point lasted 10 minutes and 13 seconds, only ending as it was interrupted by a ball bouncing into the area.
