The Scrabble WESPA Youth Cup was officially announced by Mr. Tariq Pervez, Director Youth Program of Pakistan Scrabble Association alongwith other members of the PSA Pakistan Scrabble event organising team.
The WESPA Youth Cup formerly known as World Youth Scrabble Championship will be held virtually in Pakistan from 22nd January till 7th February 2021. The present edition is titled – Gladiators WESPA Youth Cup as it is being sponsored by Pakistan cricket league franchise namely, Quetta Gladiators.
This will the first edition of the championship which will be played on a team format instead of individual.
Teams of 16 countries will participate in the championship with each team consisting of six players, who are under 18 years of age. Teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each who will play the group stages on round robin league basis. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals
The event management team includes – Technical Director, Vali Muhammad Khubaib and Hassan Hadi Khan who will be officiate as the Tournament Director, WESPA.
