The Russian National Women’s Team won the CEV- U17 European Volleyball Championship 2020. This was the fourth consecutive CEV-U17 Title victory of Russia in a row.
In the Final Match, Russia defeated Turkey 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-23) at Verde Sports Complex in Podgorica, Montenegro. Russian team captain Arina Fedorovtseva scored 26 points while Pelin Eroktay and Melisa Ege Bükmen recorded 17 and 16 points respectively for Turkey.
Throughout the CEV 2020, Russia lost only 2 sets – one set in their opening match of the pool stage with Poland and the other set in today’s grand finale with Turkey.
On the other hand, Serbia and Italy were at the 3rd and 4th position of the event that commenced on 1st October 2020.
CEV is held biannually by the European Volleyball Confederation which is the volleyball federation for Europe. The event for girls under the age of 17 years commenced in 1997.
