Wimbledon 2018 Highlights: Day 5; Round of 32 – 1st Half Doubles

Men’s Doubles

Double’s: Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares vs Paolo Lorenzi and Albert Ramos Vinolas

Result: Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares defeated Paolo Lorenzi and Albert Ramos Vinolas by 7-5, 6-2, 6-1.

Highlights:

  • After a tough battle between the two pairs, Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares claimed victory in the first set as they scored the last two points in a quick succession in the end.
  • In the second set, Paolo Lorenzi and Albert Ramos Vinolas again took the lead but they failed to extend it large enough for their opponent pair.

  • Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares eventually won the second set too by 6-2 and the match came to the third set.
  • Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares again gave a very humiliating defeat to Paolo Lorenzi and Albert Ramos Vinolas in the third set by 6-1.

  • Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares will now face Matthew Ebden and Taylor Fritz in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Double’s: Neal Skupski and Ken Skupski vs Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer

Result: Neal Skupski and Ken Skupski defeated Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer by 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(2).

Highlights:

  • Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer opened the scoring of the first set and were extending it at a very fast pace.
  • But in the end, Neal Skupski and Ken Skupski finally claimed the victory by a margin of two points as Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer lost the last two points in a quick succession.

  • In the second set, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer again faced defeat as they both dropped some points in the end.
  • Neal Skupski and Ken Skupski not only opened the scoring of the third set but they eventually won it in the end on the tie-break.

  • Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies again won the set on the tie-break will now play against Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Double’s: Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies vs Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers

Result: Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies defeated Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers by 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3).

Highlights:

  • Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies opened the scoring of the first set and were extending it at a very fast pace.
  • In the end, Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies finally sealed their win by a margin of three points as Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers lost many points throughout the set.
  • In the second set, Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers took the lead this time and were scoring points at  a very fast pace.

  • At last, Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers again failed to win the second set as they lost the last two points in a quick succession.
  • Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies not only opened the scoring of the third set but they eventually won it in the end on the tie-break.
  • Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies will now play against Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Double’s: Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt vs Antonio Sancic and Andrei Vasilevski

Result: Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt defeated Antonio Sancic and Andrei Vasilevski by 7-6(4), 6-1, 7-6(3).

Highlights:

  • Antonio Sancic and Andrei Vasilevski took a perfect start as they took the lead in the first set of the match.
  • However, after a tough fight between the two pairs, the set eventually came to a tie-breaker as the scores were levelled at both sides.

  • Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt claimed the victory on the tie-break as they did not let their opponents to score more points than them.
  • An exceptional performance was seen by Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt as they defeated Antonio Sancic and Andrei Vasilevski by 6-1.
  • The match moved to the decisive set for Antonio and Andrei.

  • The decisive set came to a  tie-breaker and eventually Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt again won the set.
  • Robin Haase and Robert Lindstedt will now face Andreja Klepac and Rajeev Ram in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Double’s: Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal vs Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni

Result: Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal defeated Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni by 6-2, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0.

Highlights:

  • Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni faced a humiliating defeat in the first set as they lost a number of points.
  • In the second set, Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni again took the lead but this time they were scoring points quickly.

  • But in the end, Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal again claimed victory over Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni as they scored the last two points in a quick succession.
  • However, in the third set, this time they played much better and eventually won the set in the end by a margin of three points.

  • In the fourth set, Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal gave a very humiliating defeat to Roman Jebavy and Andres Molteni as they both failed to score a single point throughout the set.
  • Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal will now face Joe Salisbury and Frederik Nielsen in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2018.
