- The 21-year old Russian player, Daria Kasatkina gave a very tough time to Ashleigh Barty in both sets.
- In the first set, a resilient battle was witnessed between them as they both were scoring points rapidly but in the end, Daria Kasatkina finally won the set by a margin of two points.
Daria Kasatkina has to be one of the most talented tennis players on either tour. She might not win big in her career for a number of reasons, but in terms of sheer racquet ability and imagination, few compare.

- However, the Australian player, Ashleigh Barty showed some efforts again in the next set but, Daria Kasatkina did not let her win the set and easily defeated her by a total of three points upfront.

- However, the crowd was stunned by the performance of Hsieh Su-wei in the second set as she defeat Simona Halep by a margin of two points in the end.
- Although, Simona Halep came in action in the next set as she was scoring points at a very fast pace but the Taiwanese player, Hsieh Su-wei managed to win the set as she scored the last two points first.
