- A sensational battle was seen in the opening set of the match as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the scores were levelled at both sides.
- But in the end, the Frenchmen, Gilles Simon faced defeat in the tie-break as he dropped some points on his serve.

- The next set too came to a tie-break as again the scores were equalized 6-6 on both sides after a tough battle between them. But again, this time Juan Martin del Potro claimed his victory on the tie-break in the end.

- Gilles Simon struggled hard in the third set and he eventually won it in the end by a total of two points as he scored the last two points in quick succession.
- In the fourth set, again after a exquisite performance from both the players, the set came to a tie-breaker. After a tough fight between them, Juan Martin del Potro eventually sealed the victory and won the set.

- Juan Martin del Potro finally made it to the Quarter finals and will now face the World No.1 Spaniard star player, Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon 2018.
Women’s Singles
Single’s: Angelique Kerber vs Daria Kasatkina
Result: Angelique Kerber defeated Daria Kasatkina by 6-3, 7-5.
Highlights:

- Although, Daria Kasatkina was not playing good at the start as she was dropping points constantly and was trailing behind by 3-0.
- However, after some time the scores reached 4-3 as Daria Kasatkina started scoring points at a very fast pace.

- But Daria Kasatkina failed to continue that form till the end as the German player, Angelique Kerber scored the last three points in quick succession and won the set.
- In the second set, Daria Kasatkina not only opened the scoring of the set but played very well as the score reached 5-5.

- But bad luck again struck Daria Kasatkina as she lost a point on her serve and Angelique Kerber finally scored the last points and hence won the second set too.
- Angelique Kerber finally sealed her place into the Semi finals of Wimbledon 2018 where she will now play against the Latvia star player, Jelena Ostapenko.
