Although, India lost the match, Virat Kohli’s 200 runs proved to be more than enough for him to overtake Steve Smith as the number one ranked player in the Men’s Test batting rankings.

Johnny Bairstow and Ajinkya Rahane also experienced a slight upgrade although their performances were less than satisfactory in the India vs England, 1st test.
