The WSF-World Squash Federation has awarded the 2023 WSF World Junior Squash Championships to SqA-Squash Australia. This event will be part of an exciting period of sport in Australia, which will also be hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the 2032 Olympic Games.
Australia has been successfully hosting various major WSF events, which include:
- – Men’s and Women’s World Team Championships,
- – World Junior Championships,
- – World Doubles and the World Masters Championships.
- 2020 WSF World Junior Championships, was also to be hosted by Australia bit was cancelled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The 2023 event will feature a junior men’s and women’s individual tournament and the women’s junior team championships.
SqA Chief Executive Robert Donaghue stated that they are proud to have been selected for hosting the 2023 WSF World Junior Championships, welcoming the next generation of squash stars ‘Down Under’ for the first time in nearly 30 years.”
WSF President Zena Wooldridge, mentioned that it was really important for the squash sport to be held in process of holding the two prestigious global events – Commonwealth Games in Victoria and Brisbane Olympics.
