WSF World Masters Championships: Commences For First Time In USA
VIRGINIA: The 15th edition of the 2018 WSF World Masters Squash Championships commenced in Virginia, USA. This is the first time it is being held in the USA with 750 players from a record 63 nations participating.
The championship with 19 men’s and women’s events includes categories based on age groups ranging from Over-35 to Over-80.
Australia has the upper hand as it has 16 semi-finalists, followed by South Africa and England with 11, and hosts USA with 10 and Canada at 6.

The major upset was in the men’s O75 event, when Michael Gough from USA defeated England’s No.1 seed Adrian Wright 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 5-11, 11-4.
The five-time World Open champion Sarah Fitz-Gerald from Australia easily moved into the the Women’s O45 semi-finals.
